2020 Senior Exhibition





LaKela Brown was born and raised in Detroit, MI. where she attended Detroit PublicSchools and earned her BFA in Fine Arts from the College for Creative Studies in 2005.She has worked as an exhibiting artist professionally for over fifteen years, including soloshows with Reyes/Finn in Detroit, 56 Henry in New York City, and Lars Friedrich in Berlin. In2019 she was invite to exhibit work throughout Rockefeller Center with the Art ProductionFund. She has also participated in a number of artist's residencies including Ox-Bow asfellow in 2005, and as a professional artist and faculty in 2018. She is also on faculty at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, NYU, and Cooper Union. She currently lives and works inNew York City.
